Websites to search Chinese cars: Che168, Guazi, Dongchedi
You don’t need to speak Chinese to start searching for cars in China.
With three key websites and a browser translator you can browse thousands
of used cars, compare offers and prepare a shortlist for export to Europe.
Italy, France, etc.) who want to understand where Chinese dealers actually
publish their cars and how to read those listings safely.
1. How to work with Chinese car websites if you don’t speak Chinese
All three platforms – Che168, Guazi and
Dongchedi – are fully in Chinese. The good news: modern
browsers translate them automatically.
- Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge with built-in translation.
- Right-click on the page > “Translate to English” (or your language).
- Focus on numbers and structure: year, mileage, city, price, engine, VIN.
- Ignore “flowery” Chinese descriptions – they are marketing, not facts.
For most buyers the main task is searching used cars.
New-car information is also there, but it works more like
a configurator and price reference. If you like a new car
configuration, you can then ask us to calculate a real price in China plus
export and shipping to Europe.
2. Che168 – the classic used-car marketplace
Domain: che168.com
Che168 (二手车之家) is one of the oldest and largest used-car
platforms in China. Dealers and private sellers from all over the country
list their cars here – from budget hatchbacks to premium SUVs and MPVs.
Why Che168 is useful for European buyers:
- huge choice in almost every city of China;
- strong focus on used cars with filters by brand, model, year and price;
- good base to see “China-only” models and trim levels;
- many listings include VIN and extra photos (engine bay, interior, tyres).
What to pay attention to when browsing Che168:
- City / province. Shipping from Shanghai or coastal cities is usually easier and cheaper.
- Seller type. Dealer vs private seller – process and paperwork will be different.
- Accident / repaint notes. Machine translation is not perfect, so later we always confirm this via inspection.
- Price vs similar offers. If a car is suspiciously cheap, there is always a reason.
3. Guazi – online used-car marketplace with its own stock
Domain: guazi.com / m.guazi.com
Guazi (瓜子二手车) started as an online platform and grew
into a large ecosystem with its own inventory, warranty products and
offline inspection centres. For an international buyer it is another
powerful search engine for used cars.
What Guazi is good for:
- modern interface that works well on mobile;
- lots of popular Chinese brands (BYD, Geely, Changan, GAC, etc.) in one place;
- internal inspection and basic condition grading for many cars;
- easy filtering by city, price, age, mileage and gearbox.
Important: Guazi’s internal guarantees and finance products are designed
for domestic Chinese buyers. When we export a car to
Europe, our main value from Guazi is access to their stock and
inspection data, not local after-sales services.
4. Dongchedi – configurator and research hub for new cars
Domain: dongchedi.com
Dongchedi (懂车帝) is an auto platform owned by ByteDance
(the company behind TikTok). It combines news, reviews, user content and
price data for new cars in China, plus a section for used vehicles.
For a European buyer Dongchedi is especially useful as:
- a configurator for new Chinese cars with official prices;
- a way to compare trims, batteries, power outputs and equipment packages;
- a source of user reviews and expert tests (translated by your browser);
- a starting point to understand which models are hot in the Chinese market.
If you are thinking about a new EV or hybrid from China,
the typical path looks like this:
- use Dongchedi to configure the exact version you want;
- take screenshots or copy the link;
- send it to us – we check factory availability, real dealer pricing and export options;
- you receive a full quote: car in China + export + shipping + European taxes.
5. Used cars vs new cars: how to use these sites correctly
| Site | Main use for European buyers | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Che168 | Search and compare used cars all over China | Finding real used stock, seeing price range by city |
| Guazi | Search used cars with platform inspection and grading | Popular Chinese brands, relatively “curated” inventory |
| Dongchedi | Research and configure new cars, basic used-car browsing | New EVs and hybrids, trims and tech comparison |
6. What to send us once you find a car
These websites are tools. To turn a promising listing into a real car in
your driveway, we still need to do proper checks and export prep.
When you are ready to move forward, send us:
- links to the listings on Che168 / Guazi / Dongchedi;
- screenshots with key data (price, city, mileage, year, VIN if shown);
- your country and closest convenient port (e.g. Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Koper);
- basic plan: private use vs company, approximate budget for taxes and transport.
On our side we:
- verify the car with the seller and, if needed, order a third-party inspection;
- check if the car can be legally exported and registered in your country;
- calculate the full landed cost with duty, VAT and local taxes;
- handle export from China and shipping to Europe under our licence.
Send us the links and we’ll tell you in plain numbers what this car will
cost on European plates – including export, ocean freight, customs duty,
VAT and local registration taxes.
Check my China car shortlist
This article explains how European buyers can use Chinese car platforms to
search mainly used cars in China, even without speaking Chinese, by using
browser translation. It describes Che168 as a classic used-car marketplace,
Guazi as an online platform with its own inspected stock, and Dongchedi as
a configurator and research tool for new cars such as Chinese electric
vehicles and hybrids. The guide shows what data to look at in listings
(year, mileage, city, price, VIN), how to prepare links and screenshots,
and how Myron Trade / Myron Cars can then verify the car, arrange export
from China and calculate the total landed cost and taxes for Europe.
